- We declined arbitration to our three players who could've gotten us draft picks - Isringhausen, Springer, and Looper. Curious decision on Looper in my opinion. He would've probably been relatively cheap in relation to his comparables had he stayed, but it reportedly seeking a 3-year deal and thus probably wouldn't have accepted anyway and we would've gotten the draft pick. Springer unfortunatley is now more attractive to other teams. I would like to see us retain him. And thank goodness we didn't offer to Isringhausen.
- We also didn't offer to Villone, Mulder, Lopez, Izturis, and Juan Encarnacion.
- We are not in on Randy Johnson.
- We may be in on Andy Pettitte.
- And FINALLY some news regarding Trever Miller. The reason he apparently hasn't signed is that some concerns arose during his physical about the torn labrum he had repaired in 2000.
That's all for now. More if it comes.

Do you suppose there's any truth to the Pettitte thing? I'm feeling a little faint... :)
I can't come up with anything to convince myself as to why it would be true.
Why would we go after a declining lefty starter who would command $16 million a year when we could go after a still effective lefty starter (Randy Johnson) for $5-10 million a year?
