More News - Pujols (11/12)

Albert Pujols has received yet another award. I know, surprising right? This guy is going to run out of room to hold all of his trophies soon, if he hasn't already. Brian Walton of TheSTLCardinals.com broke the story. Pujols yesterday was awarded the 2008 Oscar Charleston Legacy Award from the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum as the best player in the National League last year. That officially brings Pujols' award total, according to Walton, to seven. Here's the list:

  • Dick Schaap Memorial Player of the Year
  • National League Player of the Year Awards from the MLB Players Alumni Association
  • Roberto Clemente Award
  • Players Choice Player of the Year Award
  • Players Choice NL Outstanding Player Award
  • Sporting News MLB Player of the Year
  • Oscar Charleston Legacy Award

Anyone think he doesn't deserve the 2008 NL MVP? Seems EVERYONE else in the world does. Stay tuned for the MVP announcement on November 17th (next Monday).

Pujols better win the NL MVP, there's no other hitter in the majors who even compares to this guy, he's absolutely unbelievable!

I just don't see any way that he won't. He led his competition for this award (Howard) in average, slugging, and OPS by more than 100 points in each category. The vote shouldn't even be close
